Sidney is 2 months old!

Two whole months with our little Squid. Because she had been breech, Sidney had to get a hip ultrasound to make sure she wasn't developing dysplasia. Not only do her hips look great, but she was an absolute champ throughout the appointment! It also marked Sid and Virginia’s first appointment without Zeke, so Virginia was extra glad it went well (COVID precautions have meant only one parent can accompany Sid on some appointments). Sid is also getting stronger by the day. She's still working on picking her head up during tummy time, but loves looking all around while sitting on mom or dad's lap or while being carried.

Virginia's official maternity leave ended at 8 weeks. Even pre-pandemic she was planning to have a slow transition back into full-time work. In the current circumstances, that transition is going all the more slowly - dictated largely by how much napping Sid decides to do. Thankfully Virginia's boss is very understanding, and is also trying to work from home with two little kids of her own.

The day after Sid's 2-month birthday, we also celebrated Virginia's first Mother's Day! Sid got all gussied up in her cutest dress. [Side note: we are so thankful to the friends and family who gave us so many cute hand-me-downs that we have hardly had to buy any new clothes!] We spent the afternoon with our friends in their back yard (appropriately distanced, of course), got our first real family photo since leaving the hospital, and Sid even met her first puppy!

This week we had Sid’s two month pediatrician appointment. She took the vaccine shots like the absolute rockstar that she is. Having been slightly underweight when we went home from the hospital, she is now at the 41st percentile for weight and 84th for height!!
