Sidney is 4 months old!

Well folks, we officially have a chunkamonk on our hands!
A very happy chunkamonk.

In those rare moments when she is not her happy self, Sid can always find comfort chatting it up with her best friend in the mirror.

As the Tennessee summer settles in, we've been spending a lot of time at the pool. So far Sid is pleasantly tolerant of the water. She will happily float around with us for a good amount of time before letting us know that it's time for a snack or a nap. We are really thankful for the respite from the heat and our weekly chance to forget that the world around us is kind of melting.

Sid officially started daycare soon after she turned 3-months, and by all accounts is thriving there. We cannot stress enough how fortunate we feel that we not only have childcare, but at a small center with staff and other parents who we feel we can trust. There are many precautions in place to keep the probability of COVID spread low. As much as Gin misses having Sid home with her it is made easier knowing Sid is well cared for.

Below are two pictures from her first day of "school".

Sid is always cheerful, and generally pooped when Gin picks her up from daycare (see below). Her teachers share pictures of all the fun activities she gets into over the course of the day, like doing art projects, reading books, and going for walks. On top of knowing she is well cared for, we love knowing that she is having lots of fun and getting so many opportunities to learn and grow.

Gin turned 33 this month and while celebrations were pretty low-key this year - Sid did decide to dress up as a cupcake for mom! We also celebrated Zeke's first father's day with a trip to the pool.

Over the past few weeks, Sid has decided to start sharing with us all of her thoughts and hot takes on the state of the world. We love listening to all she has to say, and her political commentary is particularly astute.
